Frequently asked questions.

How long do I have until I can make a decision?

Please let us know by April, 31st 2025 or sooner so that we can continue to work through our guest list (That’s right, you’re on the A list!). If you decide to come, PLEASE book your hotel accommodations immediately to ensure you have a spot during El Nido’s busiest season of the year.

What is the dress code?

A semi-formal beach wedding dress code combines elegance with relaxed vibes. Guests should wear lightweight fabrics and soft colors. Men can choose dress pants or chinos with a collared shirt or polo, while women may select sundresses, maxi dresses, or skirts. Comfortable footwear, like dress sandals or wedges, is recommended for the beach. The aim is to feel polished yet comfortable while celebrating love by the shore. No bathing suits please!

What if I can’t make it to the wedding?

No worries, we are planning a local wedding shower in the Bay Area sometime before the 2025 holiday season. Please be on the look out for the digital invitation later this year.

Is there a wedding registry?

As we begin our journey together, we kindly ask that if you wish to honor us with a gift, please consider a monetary contribution to help us create lasting memories as we start our new life together. See Registry page for more info.

Are kids allowed?

Yes! But please indicate if they will need a table setting on your RSVP invite.

What should I pack?

If you plan on swimming: Beach essentials (i.e. sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hats, goggles), flow-y/breathable clothes, a water bag, water shoes

Travel essentials: Reusable water bottle, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, Immodium, Pepto Bismol, coin bag, comfy shoes for the outdoors

Don’t forget your passport!!

What are my transportation options?

Hospitality in the Philippines is top tier. You can book taxis through your hotel concierge or work with our dedicated travel agent to make arrangements. To reach out, send an email via this link.

Other options include utilizing local tricycles (have cash ready, smaller denominations are recommended because change is rare) or renting a scooter via hotel concierge/travel agent.

How much cash should I bring?

It depends on how long you’re planning on staying. But a general amount to start with is $500 with smaller denominations for street vendors, transportation, tips, etc. The best exchange rate is at the bank, please make arrangements for this at least 2 weeks before your trip.

Can I drink the tap water?

NO. Always request for cold bottled water, especially if you are outside of your hotel. If you need ice, double check it first before drinking. We also recommend using bottled water to brush your teeth for extra insurance. If not, definitely have some Immodium on hand just in case!

What will the weather be like?

January is the best month to visit El Nido. During this time the island experiences a delightful tropical climate, characterized by warm temperatures and low humidity. Average temperatures range from 77°F to 87°F, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and exploration. Skies are often clear, with plenty of sunshine, creating perfect conditions for beach outings and island hopping. Rainfall is minimal during this month, allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning landscapes and vibrant marine life without interruption.

Do I need a converter for appliances?

No, the Philippines uses the same outlets. But please use hair tools with caution.. we may or may not have left a burnt out hair dryer on Boracay….

Do I need any vaccinations or visas?

U.S. travelers to the Philippines should ensure vaccinations are current to guard against local illnesses. Recommended shots include Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, and Tdap. Consider Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies vaccines if visiting rural areas or engaging in outdoor activities. Consult a healthcare provider for tailored recommendations at least four to six weeks before departure, allowing time for vaccines to take effect. Stay informed on health advisories from the CDC for a safe trip.

Please make sure your passport is up to date!

Do I need to know Tagalog?

Knowing the native language is not strictly necessary for visitors to the Philippines, as English is widely spoken throughout the country. It serves as a second language for many Filipinos and is the medium of instruction in schools. However, learning a few basic phrases in Filipino languages, like Tagalog, can enhance your travel experience by fostering connections with locals and showing respect for their culture. Overall, while English will suffice for most interactions, some knowledge of the local language can be beneficial.
